Introduction of Professor Kerry London:
Professor Kerry London is Acting Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor Teaching and Learning and Professor Construction Management, School of Property, Construction and Project Management at RMIT University.
Kerry has held numerous senior positions in academia including Associate Dean Research in the Faculty of Science and Technology, Associate Dean Community and Partnerships and Chair of University Academic Appeals Committee. Kerry designed and launched the first online Masters of Construction Management program in Australia (RICS Accreditated). The course content was based upon innovative research and leading edge practice derived from industry-academic research collaborations.
Prior to entering academia fulltime in 2001 Professor London had worked as a registered architect in New South Wales. She also worked in government as a project manager in capital works procurement and in 1997 successfully brought together in a Public Private Partnership three clients including the Jawoyn people for the Visitor centre, Nitmiluk. She also worked in construction industry policy and strategic asset management (SAM) introducing reforms and changing public sector thinking about SAM.
In 2010 Kerry spearheaded the Australian National Housing Supply Chain Alliance. The Alliance is a group of construction industry organisations dedicated to transforming the housing sector through research and development focused on integrated supply chains. Alliance members include Metricon, FMG Engineering, Australand, Boral, RMIT, Master Builders Association, Housing Industry Association and Building Commission. She recently received funding from the Victorian Government Department of Sustainability and Environment and Sustainability Victoria for research into supply chain management for waste minimisation in the residential sector.
