Professor Liu Hongrui from Institute of Industrial Management Engineering, Korea University will visit our university from May 13 to May 18, 2013 upon the invitation of Professor Feng Yuqiang from School of Management, Harbin Institute of Technology under the assistance of the funds for international cooperation and exchanges of HIT.
Professor Liu Hongrui is now a professor and doctoral advisor in the Institute of Industrial Management Engineering, Korea University. Professor Liu has mainly engaged in science and researches on the theory and application of data mining, total optimization, financial engineering, information science etc. Professor Liu respectively obtained the M.Sc. and doctor degree of management science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, majoring in industrial engineering. And Professor Liu worked as an assistant professor at the Department of Mathematics, Towson University; assistant professor at the mechanical and industrial engineering major of the University of Illinois at Chicago Angeles; and a guest professor at the Department Of Chemical Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University. In academic part-time jobs, Professor Liu is now the member and the guest editor of the Advisory Board of OR Spectrum(SCIE Journal). Besides, Professor Liu was a member of Bionetics 2007 International Conference Technical Committee, chairman of the special branch of Informs, the guest editor of Journal of the Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers, and the guest editor of IE Interfaces. In recent years, Professor Liu has totally issued more than ten high quality academic theses in internationally famous academic journals, such as Journal of Global Optimization, Journal of Operational Research Society, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Annals of Operations Research, Applied Mathematics and Computation, and Computers & IE.
