The 2012 AMBA Asia-Pacific Conference for Deans and Directors was held in the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia on November 21-23, 2012. Dean of School of Management, Professor Yu Bo, Associated Dean, Professor Ye Qiang, Director of EMBA Education Center, Zhu Bin, Director of the Professional Degree Education Center, Zhang Li, and Director of the International Accreditation Office, Sun Wenjun attended the Conference.
The theme of the conference is ‘Leadership of a sustainable future’. The conference covers four topics including: 21st century leadership: ethics, culture, values and faith, Sustainable leadership in practice: a corporate view, The Asian talent war: are women the answer, and Sustainable and green MBAs.
In the morning of Nov. 22, the AMBA Accreditation Certificates were awarded to the newly accredited universities and Business Schools. Dean of School of Management, Professor Yu Bo, and Associated Dean, Professor Ye Qiang accepted the certificate from Chris Russell, the Chair of International Management Board, AMBA. School of Management obtained a five-year certification, which is the longest AMBA accreditation cycle and marks the recognition of AMBA to our MBA programmes. During the conference of November 23 morning, school of management, HIT was selected to be one of the three domestic universities which can make a speech. The Associated Dean, Professor Ye Qiang introduced the integral development strategy and the features of SoM’s MBA/EMBA education.
The AMBA accreditation will be a key significance to promote achieving the SoM’s vision of ‘To create management knowledge, produce pillars of the society, lead in management practices and make a research-oriented management school that is first-class in the world and leading in Asia’, to learn the advanced educational concepts and practices in the world and to improve SoM’s own educational system so as to build SoM, HIT into a first-class business school up to an international level. It also spurs introduction of numbers of new policies about talent strategy and curriculums. The AMBA accreditation will play a role of facilitation for the further development of School of Management.
