2011 Harbin Institute of Technology EMBA Degree Award Ceremony was held on 10th of September in International Conference Center of Science Park. Prof. DING Xuemei, the Vice President of HIT, Prof. YU Bo, the Dean of the School of Management, Prof. ZHEN Liang, the Deputy Director of Graduate School, together with more than 200 master student advisors, EMBA students and guests attended the ceremony. Dean YU Bo presided over the ceremony and Deputy Director ZHEN Liang announced the list of students to receive 2011 EMBA degree. Vice President DING Xuemei granted the degree to the students and shifted the tassel to the left marking the completion of the degree study.
Vice President DING Xuemei congratulated all the students and thanked the family members of the EMBA students for their understanding and supports. She hoped that the students, though having graduated, would always remember that they are part of the HIT family and HIT would back them up any time and anywhere. If needed, HIT would use its full strength to support the career ambition of its graduates. It was also expected that the graduates would help with the construction and development of the university and let people know the name of HIT and its School of Management with their wonderful performance and achievements.
Dean YU Bo in the address expressed his best wish to the students. He wished that students would think and learn as long as life goes on. The ceremony today marked a new beginning, which placed one more share of responsibility on students’shoulders. The responsibility went beyond family, work place, or career, and it was more about the society. He sincerely hoped that students would regard the university as home, to give more care and supports to HIT, the School of Management, and the EMBA program.
Chairman and Secretary of CPC Committee of Heilongjiang Beidahuang Agricultural Corporation Ltd., WANG Daoming studied in EMBA 09-1 Class, and he spoke on behalf of the students. He regarded the three-year study in HIT as a life-long honor, through which the students harvested knowledge, opened up their minds and updated ideas and values. The HIT EMBA Program gave them the strength to change and to advance further on the career.
ZHANG Ruiting, son of EMBA 2009-1 Class student ZHANG Yuhui, spoke on behalf of family members. He was impressed by the spirits of his older generation, who kept forging ahead in spite of difficulties and challenges. The spirits would also be a driving force for the younger generation to keep going and fighting for more.
As the first several universities authorized by the Academic Degree Commission of the State Council to start EMBA education, HIT maintained its elite education for EMBA by employing first-class faculty, enrolling high-level students, building top-notch infrastructure and introducing world-level management. Based on the target of serving for the local and state-owned large-scale enterprises, EMBA program had successful cooperation with Organization Department of Heilongjiang Provincial Committee, Heilongjiang Local Tax Bureau, Qitaihe Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. Among the EMBA students, emerged 5 provincial level leaders, 135 department-level cadres, 32 leaders for central enterprises. Through 9 years of development, EMBA of HIT has organized 20 classes and enrolled 840 students. Till September 2011, 465 EMBA students succeeded in graduate thesis defense and received EMBA degrees.
