September 3rd, 2011, 20th anniversary of MBA Education Center was held in the HIT International Conference Center. Leaders of the university, officials from National MBA Education Committee, officials of the Department of Education of Heilongjiang Province, leaders and teachers of School of Management, guests from different enterprises and universities, as well as the representative of the first session of MBA in 1991 to this year's newly-enrolled students, a total of 300 people participated in the day's activities. WANG Shuguo, the President of Harbin Institute of Technology, wrote the message” Inheriting HIT spirit, nurturing social talents” for the 20th anniversary of the MBA education.
The meeting was presided by Prof. JU Xiaofeng, the party secretary of School of Management. YU Bo, Dean of School of Management, introduced the development of HIT MBA education. He pointed out that HIT MBA education has always insisted on serving the local people and enterprises. It has provided more than 3,000 MBA students for various enterprises. Among these students have emerged outstanding MBA alumni, such as ZHENG Wei, the CPPCC National Committee member, the Ten Outstanding Young People of China, and President of Yiyang Group, as well as ZOU Lei, the general manager of Harbin Electric Group.
Prof. TONG, the General Secretary and also a member of National MBA Education Committee, spoke on behalf of the National MBA Education Committee. Prof. TONG pointed out that HIT is a famous university in China ans it has always been the pioneer in the science of management. Twenty years ago, HIT was authorized to be one of the 9 universities to conduct MBA program, becoming the explorer in the teaching of management. The past twenty years, with the strong support of the university, with the efforts of the leaders and teachers in the School of Management, MBA program is already a brand program in HIT. By serving the local people, enterprises and community, MBA program has made great contribution to the social and economic development in Heilongjiang province and even in the north-eastern region. MBA in Hit has become an important channel for senior management personnel training. Looking ahead, I believe that School of Management, under the care and support of the party committee and the leaders of the school, will progress farther and play a leading role in the MBA education in China.
Vice President, Prof. DING Xuemei spoke at the meeting. She pointed out that HIT MBA education has formed its own characteristics, with its plain and rigorous style of study, training a large number of social elites, and being recognized by the community. MBA education will continue to maintain the advanced ideas of education, to shape the brand of MBA education, and to do its utmost for the enterprise, to serve the community.
Finally, teachers and students from School of Management, as well as representatives from MBA Education Committee, made keynote speeches. The celebrations ended with heated discussion among students and teachers.
