May 23 to 25, Dean YU Bo together with a delegation of 3 people participated in the annual meeting in Asia-Pacific region of AACSB, the international business school accreditation organization, in Singapore. The delegation included Dean YU Bo , YE Qiang, Associate Dean of the School in charge of accreditation, Prof. ZHANG Li, the Director of Business Administration Department and Prof. SUN Wenjun, Head of Accreditation Office.
AACSB is the acronym of The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The organization was founded in 1916 and headquartered in Tampa, Florida, USA. It is a non-profit organization formed by the business Schools, associations, and other institutions. The organization is committed to improving and promoting higher education level of Business Administration and Accounting. It is the primary accreditation body for the Bachelor, Master, and PhD degree programs of Business Administration and Accounting. The School of Management has officially become a non-certified member on June 18th, and in this year the school has began the preparation for the AACSB accreditation. AACSB membership and to accreditation marks the school is taking steps towards internationalization, and also signals improvements on the teaching standards.
During the meeting, the delegates participated in the AACSB accreditation publicity and case demonstration. The team discussed accreditation issues with the AACSB officials and the Asia-Pacific region business school counterparts. This has launched a wide-ranging exchanges and lively discussion, accumulated more experience for accreditation.
