On 26th, April, 2011, teachers and students of class 2010-1 began their memorable 17-day long study tour of America. The first destination, in which students spent 4 days studying and inspecting, was the beautiful city—Hawaii, whose people are simple and honest and weather is pleasant. As soon as getting off the plane, we headed directly towards Pearl Harbor—a tranquil and peaceful place that made everyone feel sad and grieved. On the second day of arrival in Hawaii, students walked into the classrooms of the University of Hawaii. Salmon, the ambassador to the Philippines, presented the development and present situation of Sino-US relations; Pro. Bouyei of the University of Hawaii, elaborated Hawaii’s history, geography, politics and economic situation; Pro. Authur of College of the Arts, the University of Hawaii, introduced economics of the Arts and showed us around the museum. The President of Hawaii Bank, Betty, explained related knowledge of investment and made an detailed introduction of Hawaii Bank’s development tactics. Besides, students visited Kabioulani Community University where they discussed American culture and negotiation skills, American economy theme and so forth with some very professors. After ending the tour of Hawaii, we flew to Los Angeles and San Francisco, California State, to visit Silicon Valley, Intel Headquarters, Stanford University and Universal Studios, and so on. Then heading eastward, we called at many famous places such as Niagara Falls in Buffalo, Congress in Philadelphia, Fifth Avenue in New York, Statue of Liberty, the White House in Washington, Capitol Hill and Air and Space Museum. The 17-day long trip ended up very soon. Though tired, everyone was in good mood for what they had experienced kept them thinking and pondering. Without hands-on experience, you would never know what really it is. Only when you were engaged in it, you could deeply tell the differences to make a better choice of studying and learning. Everyone expressed their thanks to their mother school for the thoughtful arrangement of the study tour which taught them a lot.
