On April 21, 2011 afternoon, EMBA(abbr. for Executive Master of Business Administration) of HIT welcomed her another new students. The opening ceremony of EMBA 2011-1, held grandly in room 304, International Convention Centre of Scientific Park, was attended by Pro. Zhou Yu—vice president of HIT and academician of Academy of Engineering, Pro. Ma Guangfu—vice dean of Graduate School of HIT, Pro. Yu Bo—dean of Management School of HIT and Pro. Zhu Bin—EMBA Education Center director of Management School of HIT, and was hosted by Pro. Qi Zhongying—vice dean of Management School. The dean of Management School, Pro. Yu Bo, congratulated the new students on their becoming members of EMBA, HIT, and introduced the history of Management School and its development and characteristics of EMBA. Then, the vice dean of Graduate School, Pro. Ma Guangfu, introduced the history of HIT and its postgraduate education and contributions to the development of China made by over 20 million graduates since the establishment of HIT 91 years ago. He encouraged students to try their best to be outstanding in future and to become the pride of HIT. Afterwards, vice-president Zhou Yu, taking his own study experience as an example, advocated that everyone should learn from teachers and other students to make great progress by means of this special learning stage. Meanwhile, by telling the story of Warren Buffett and two slices of bread, he wished that in process of pursuing success, everyone should attach equivalent importance to spiritual cultivation and should get rid of material burdens to achieve great goals. The representative of the total 44 new EMBA students Yu Hao, a general manager of Harbin Dongan Electrical and Mechanical Manufacturing Co., Ltd, expressed his longing for studying in HIT and his excitement of becoming a member of it. He said he would be bound to make balance between study and work and would try his best to conform to the school motto of Strict Standard and Affluent Effort to fulfill study tasks smoothly. Moreover, he wished to offer better service to enterprise and society in return for the training of HIT. After the end of opening ceremony, all the students headed to Long Tang Mansion to participate in a 3-day long cours which is completely closed to public. The first class is Reform of Innovation and Organization taught by Pro. Weng Wanghui of Soochow University, Taiwan. During this course, students held a variety of recreational activities to promote understanding and communication between each other.
